Installation Notes
This unit is designed for plug-and-play installation however please note the following before purchasing:
- The hazard light switch relocates to the left of the unit as shown in the product images
- Slight trimming may be required around the hazard switch fitting
- Hazard switch alignment may not be perfectly symmetrical
- A wire extension may be required for the hazard switch wiring
- Factory USB, AUX and voice command buttons are not retained
- Factory trip computer is not retained on GXL models
We strongly recommend professional installation by an experienced car audio installer for this model due to the hazard switch relocation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does this fit both GX and GXL models? Yes — with different inclusions. GXL gets a factory reverse camera retention kit. GX gets a free AHD reverse camera included in the box.
Will it work with my factory JBL sound system? No — this unit cannot replace a factory JBL amplified system in a VX, Kakadu or Altitude model.
Is Android Auto included? Yes — both wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto are supported.
Do I need to cut any wiring? No cutting required. The unit uses plug-and-play connectors. However professional installation is strongly recommended due to the hazard switch relocation on this model.
How do I know if I have the 2009–2013 Prado or a later model? Check the compliance plate on your door jamb for the build date, or contact us with your VIN and we'll confirm.
