How to modify and install N70 Hilux AC and hazard Switch on 9" Extnix  Frame Fascia

Hi everyone, one of the most asked question about the installation of 9" Extnix infotianment units for N70 hilux is about the AC and hazdard switch's fitting.

Click here to see our full range of Extnix N70 compatible complete Infotainment system headunits and Frame Fascia.

The process to install the switched on new frames is very easy and take about 5-10 minutes with minimum to no prior experience.

Tools required:

1- Electrical or Tessa tape

2- Small Flat had screw driver

3- A stanley knife or dremel

Steps:

  • Remove the AC and Hazard switch from old frame using the flat had screw drive by pressing on the side legs.
  • Gently pull out the side leg by holding the mounting point and pulling out the leg by 1-3 mm. Becarefull and slow as leg may brake.

  • Once the switch legs are out, roll some electrical tape behind it. This will hold the legs in place for mounting on the new bracket. and will stop the side legs going back to orginal postion

  • Inser the switch in the mounitng hole and test if it is a secure fit.

  • Test the switch if it is stuck or eaily operateable? If switch is stuck trim the hole surround by 1-3mm as required using a stanley kinfe or demel tool.

  • When switch is easily operateable and secure the modification part is complete.

  • Installation of the switches is now complete.
